PWP Taking WordPress 2.6 For A Spin

Published by Steve on July 15th, 2008 at 7:24 pm

I can now confirm that PWP is indeed being powered by the mighty - and brand spanking new - WordPress 2.6, which was released just a few short hours ago. So far, I’m having a blast testing all of the new features that WP 2.6 boasts of; I’m really digging the idea of Post Revisions - perhaps the most notable new feature in WP 2.6 - but I am concerned about just how much database space it might take up in the long run… definitely something to keep an eye on.

Another feature, albeit quite minor, that I’ve taken a liking to is the new total word count box. I actually quite like how it keep me up to date with how many words I’ve managed to write so far; it also gives me an idea of just when to add that “more »” link, too.

I’m really looking forward to checking out some of the other features that WordPress 2.6 has for me to play with. The fact that a ton of bugs were corrected since the last release candidate was released is also a very inviting reason to upgrade. If you haven’t already, be sure to upgrade your blog as soon as possible!

Don’t forget to take a quick peak at the official WordPress 2.6 release post over at WordPress.org, too.
