SolarFlare: Dark and Brooding Design. Perfect For Gaming Blogs

Another premium WordPress theme has been added to our growing catalogue. This time, however, I thought I might try my hand at a somewhat darker look for this design, and I’m very pleased with the results. I wanted to create something that would appeal to the hardcore gamers. Being a gamer myself - not a hardcore one, mind you - I was eager to see what I could come up with.

The first thing that came to mind was: I do not want this to look like another typical, boring, run-of-the-mill gaming blog design. I wanted to create something that gave off the impression that this wasn’t even a WordPress theme, but a custom built CMS template! With me and my wife both being fans of the Halo series of games for the Xbox and Xbox 360, I drew inspiration from Bungie, the company behind the Halo games.

Perhaps the most note-worthy thing I’d like to highlight regarding this theme is this: The SolarFlare theme was built with style and optimization being top of the priority list. Straight out of the box, you can expect to set up SolarFlare with minimal fuss and be fully prepared to take on the wrath of the Digg effect.
